Roberta Luster – Memorialized by one of the most beautiful monuments in Evergreen.

George Mankins and Henrietta Willis Mankins – He enlisted to fight in the Spanish American War; she stayed in Richmond and raised 13 children. Both are buried in Evergreen.

William C. Ewell, George Washington Hendley, and George Ewell – Three generations of black soldiers, they were a soldier in the USCT, a Buffalo Soldier, and one who was enlisted between World War 1 and World War II. Two of the men are buried in historical Woodland Cemetery in Henrico County and one of them possibly buried in a lost cemetery in Goochland County.
